Born in Belgium to a Belgian mother and a half-Japanese, half-Belgian father, stunner Yumi Lambert considers this cultural mix a duality that has quietly shaped the way she sees beauty, balance and detail in all she does.
A simple 2012 FENDI hair&makeup test in Milano may just had been Yumi’s turning point in her early modelling career. That was the moment when legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld first laid eyes on her….and everything unfolded from there, walking the runways of major iconic fashion brands including PRADA, BOTTEGA VENETA, DIOR, CHANEL, JOHN GALLIANO, MOSCHINO, CALVIN KLEIN, BALENCIAGA and, of course, FENDI amongst a slew of others.
After having walked that first CHANEL show for the SS13 season, Mr. Lagerfeld followed by featuring Yumi in their advertising campaign as well. She soon became a “photographer’s favorite” for fashion publications including multiple editorials in Vogue China & Japan, Self Service, W Magazine, Visionaire, Purple and Harper’s Bazaar to name a few.
Yumi has always loved images, creativity, design and couture. She has always been deeply inspired and fascinated by the creatives in this industry who have had the courage and conviction to build an entire universe around their instincts while inventing new paths.
Since her teen years, Yumi has always dreamt of working in science... so, finding a way to make science and fashion coexist in her life has been her strongest dream to conquer. She is actively exploring some internship in Marine Biology — and beyond the personal curiosity, hopes one day to be a voice that matters in the preservation of endangered species. In fact, Yumi is working with the charity organization Save the Oceans. Starting on July 20 through August, 2026 she’ll be joining a scientific mission aboard a research vessel, sailing through the Gulf of Thailand alongside internationally renowned scientists.
Sport is something Yumi has always practiced intensely — basketball, badminton, horse riding and ballet as a teen, then Pilates and CrossFit for several years. She has recently began practicing bouldering almost daily, and gets out into the forest whenever conditions allow.
